Anionic polymer, also named anionic polyacrylamide, which is widely used in various wastewater treatment plants. Anionic polyacrylamide powder in industrial water is commonly used in the pretreatment process, which lies in dissolved air flotation (DAF).
There is a close relationship between the flocs formed after treating sewage using dry polyacrylamide and the air flotation machine.
During the operation of the air flotation machine, chemical agents such as flocculants are usually added. The dry polyacrylamide promote the mutual coagulation of suspended particles, colloids and other substances in the water to form flocs.
The characteristics such as the size and density of the flocs are crucial for the separation effect of the air flotation machine.
The air flotation machine generates tiny bubbles, allowing the bubbles to combine with the flocs to form gas-floc combinations.
Due to the density of the gas-floc combinations being less than that of water, they float to the water surface, thereby achieving separation from the water. This separation method is efficient and rapid, and can effectively remove pollutants such as suspended solids and oils in the water.
The appropriate size and density of the flocs can better combine with the bubbles, improving the separation efficiency of the air flotation machine. If the flocs are too small, they may be difficult to fully combine with the bubbles; if the flocs are too large, they may lead to sedimentation instead of floating. The operating parameters of the air flotation machine, such as bubble size and gas-water ratio, also affect the separation effect of the flocs. By adjusting these parameters of dry polyacrylamide, the processing capacity of the air flotation machine for the flocs can be optimized.
